D4 - Brazza riddles
|
We go to the discovery of the Brazzaville popular districts, but especially in search of Fenerbache formosus and Aphyoplatys duboisi. I will not make the suspense last : we have not found them!
Let's recap a little bit about the day's progress...
Departure a little late from Laurent house, but we must admit that a good night's sleep is good to recover from our emotions the day before. Direction : the district named "Texaco". After 30min of taxi, here we are in the popular area. No Aphyoplatys duboisi on the horizon, only pretty little Poecilia reticulata and Hemichromis. But seeing the state of insalubrity of the neighborhood, we understand that duboisi is no longer there. It is difficult to describe the scene, maybe the photos will be more talking, but the atmosphere and smells less.
We leave on a point located at the airport, where Allan had spotted a female Aphyo. Christian and Laurent go down into the marshy area and bring back 5 specimens (Aphyo aff cognatum, which are certainly Aphyo chauchei).
A return home for the meal, then we leave on a point for F. formosus. The story is similar to this morning, unfortunately. After more than 2 hours in the maze of neighborhoods, guided by children, we return empty-handed, making a small detour through the French high school where Laurent works.
In the evening, Laurent gets his car, repaired ... well, we hope! The mechanic can not recover a ring fallen in the transmission box. We cross our fingers for tomorrow (direction Dolisie, hopefully).
After the fishes photoshoot, and snake, the evening does not drag on. 9.45 pm: extinguishing fires. Wake up at 5:15 tomorrow!
